PW101 Mission Statement:
Pro Wrestling 101 is the brand new British Professional Wrestling promotion, from the team that brought you the original 1PW super shows of 2005 - 2007.
Our Aim is simply to entertain you with the very best professional wrestling shows we can possibly produce. We won’t shout about it, we won’t bore you with endless hype. We will work hard to produce our product and to give you, the fans, more then your moneys worth every time out of the gate.
Our long term goal is to take all the elements that made the original 1PW special , both tangible and intangible, and amplify them, whilst learning from the past, and removing from the equation all the elements that were negative about the original 1PW. Our plan is one of several stages, and this time around we want to ensure the foundation is securely laid before we start to build upwards.
Opening it’s doors this September is our brand new Training School, The 101 Dojo, located in Doncaster.
Additionally premiering in September ( starting September 19th and with dates announced through to December ) is our new monthly series of intimate up close and personal shows in Doncaster. These shows will somewhat attempt to capture the feel of the earlier 1PW Underground shows, which were massively successful at bringing an intimate and up close professional wrestling show right into fans laps. We hope these monthly shows can become an un-missable and great value monthly dose of British Wrestling action, based on long term episodic story-telling that both internet and local fans alike can enjoy.
In addition to the monthly shows, we will also take this concept “ on the road “ with, to begin with one extra venue ( in Pontefract, West Yorks ) outside of Doncaster that will host shows of a similar concept. We plan to add further venue’s to our schedule in early 2010, full details will be forthcoming.
Also Coming in 2010 will be larger super shows. Our aim is to build this promotion and the 101 brand sensibly and securely. We believe that even in these troubled times of economic woe, if the wrestling product is pitched right, promoted right and priced right, the market is still there to support the scope of shows we plan to produce in the future. With these super shows, we aim to recapture the magic that made those Classic 1PW shows special, but whilst completely re-evaluating the presentation aspects. We want to totally re-think the way a pro wrestling show can be presented, from the ground up. More information on our cutting edge concepts will be released soon.
The Team behind PW101 was not interested is creating yet *another* promotion, and we want everything about 101 to stand out from the crowd, from our dedication to fan interactivity, involvement and community, to our presentation, to the action we present.
The PW101 roster will be announced over the coming days and weeks. We did not want to simply present you the same old stars you have seen many times over. Our roster will combine some of your favourite and most charismatic stars from the original 1PW along with the new generation of hungry, young and exciting athletes. We want PW101 to stand out from the crowd, and be unique. We are relishing the opportunity to build up and elevate a red hot roster of upcoming stars alongside undoubted standouts from our supershows of 2005-2007.
PW101's ethos as pertains to the content of our shows is to present what we feel to be the very definition of Professional Wrestling. Cutting Edge in ring action, from high flying to hardcore and from technical to comedy will be woven together by patient and emotionally involving professional wrestling storylines. PW101 will entertain you, but this is not Sports Entertainment. Wrestling is not a dirty word, and we aim to present a quality Professional Wrestling product.
Pro Wrestling 101 realises that for every person that is excited for this project, there will no doubt be another person who is sceptical, or unhappy. The original 1PW was as controversial as it was unique and entertaining after all. PW101 will embrace our community of fans , both local and from further a field, and go our of our way to show you how special and important you are to us. Every single PW101 show will be our opportunity to treat our fans like VIP’s.
There you have the mission statement. No bold claims, no mega hype, just the facts and an outline of what we want to achieve. The PW101 team is incredibly enthusiastic and fiercely dedicated for the journey we are about to embark upon.
If you thought that the original 1PW was a wild ride, then buckle up and get ready because Pro Wrestling 101 is about to show you the very definition of Pro Wrestling.
101 is Burridge!
Pro Wrestling 101 is today incredibly proud to announce the very first man to be officially signed to the PW101 Roster. It couldn’t have been any else but this man; the original British Breakout star of Classic 1PW, former Tag Team and Open Weight Champion, and the British Wrestler above all others who’s name is synonymous with those classic shows , making his return to Pro Wrestling after a lengthly injury absence and semi retirement, it is the one, the only “ Pukka One “ DARREN BURRIDGE.
Burridge has been out of action since his bout with AJ Styles in the Spring of 2008, but he is now ready, willing and more then able to make his return, and he said “ There is no where I would rather do it then PW101 “
The Man who wrestled Nigel McGuinness in the classic Iron Match Match in 2007 has signed up to the 101 Roster. He will be the guest of honour at “ Brave New World “ on September 19th, where he has vowed to speak to the fans and give his own mission statement regards his comeback, and he will compete in a PW101 ring before Christmas.
What will Burridge have to say to the PW101 fans on September 19th ? Will old rivalries re-surface or will new one’s be born ? How will the other members of the 101 Roster feel about his return to wrestling ? What will Darren’s Mission Statement be for the resurrection of his Pro Wrestling career ?
