UEWA (Union of European Wrestling Alliances) is taking the next step and will be introducing the European Cruiserweight Championship for wrestlers up to 95 kgs in 2011.
Eight UEWA member promotions will be selected to hold an eight man tournament which is set to take place on may 21st in Oslo, Norway. Every promotion can decide on their own if they want to nominate a wrestler or hold qualification matches to find their representative.
The first promotion that has already set a date for a qualification match is Germany-based UEWA-affiliate Catch Wrestling Norddeutschland who will hold a four way match at their next show on February 12th, 2011 in Tangstedt (near Hamburg), Germany. At this time, no wrestlers have been announced for this qualification bout.
