EXCITING SPECIAL CHALLENGE SET FOR BROXBOURNE ON SATURDAY MARCH 15TH 2008

Just over a month ago, we announced that IPW:UK would be returning to the Broxbourne Civic Hall on March 15th 2008 as part of the March Madness Weekender. We can now reveal some of the details for what will be an event of historic proportions.

Not wanting to shy away from new ideas, this event will feature a series of “IPW Vs The World” matches. This concept will work unlike any other series of this kind which has taken place in this country, with the regular stars of IPW events around the country taking on the best that independent professional wrestling from around the world has to offer.

As the first name announced for the show, former PWG World and Tag Team Champion El Generico is already confirmed for the Rest of the World team. At this time we can also reveal four extra names who have put themselves forward to join Generico.

The first is a man who will be extremely well known to Ring of Honor fans, Jimmy Jacobs. He will be making his IPW debut on this event, but this doesn’t mean he will go un-noticed, as Jacobs seems to be well recognised wherever in the world he competes.

As of this Sunday, three more names were also signed for the World team. wXw’s Swiss Money Holding and CHIKARA’s own Chris Hero were certainly not on the same page at Brawl At The Hall 2007, but they will once again be batting for the same team on March 15th, as they will all be at Broxbourne Civic Hall.

It didn’t take long for IPW officials to find enough candidates to fight against this invading fleet on March 15th. Former champion “The Guvnor” Martin Stone was amongst the first to put his name in to the hat, and was added to the team straight away. Also confirmed are current IPW:UK Tag Team Title holders The Kartel, “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Pac and The Zebra Kid – so nobody can say we don’t have the force to back up our actions!

To add extra spice to what will surely be top quality matches between the IPW and World teams, every match will have a definitive result. There is no time limit stipulated for the contests, and every match will end with a decision, one way or the other. There will be no double disqualifications, no double count-outs – and therefore no easy get-out clause for anyone involved.

Then again, you know that we wouldn’t keep an event as simple as that. On top of the five scheduled matches in the series, you will also get to see a second round match in the British National Championship, as the survivor between Doug Williams and Marty Scurll will face the winner of “The Phoenix” Jody Fleisch and Leroy Kincaide. Also in action, should he still be the Champion, will be Andy Boy Simmonz.

Tickets for what is sure to be a monumental event are on sale NOW! Priced at £30 for ringside, £20 for tiered seating and £10 for general admission, there are also some fantastic offers available for group bookings in the tiered and general admission categories.
