-'wXw with you, Japan' - Preview

wXw with you, Japan – Westside Xtreme Wrestling stages charity event

On March 11 the world witnessed (and actually still witnesses) one of the most devastating natural disasters of modern times in Japan.

Westside Xtreme Wrestling’s (wXw) events have been influenced by Japanese wrestling and its stars for many years now. The company has built strong connections to Pro Wrestling NOAH, Dragon Gate and Big Japan over the last years and even hosted events for and with these organisations in Germany.

On June 4, wXw stages “wXw with you, Japan” in Oberhausen, Germany. It’s going to be a charity event with an international top squad including wXw’s regular competitors from all over Europe and even wrestlers that haven’t set foot in a wXw ring for a while. All of them will perform without pay.

All profits from this night will be donated. The company already announced that they’ll be working with the German Red Cross (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) to support their tremendous efforts in Japan.

Reigning wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion Big Van Walter will put his title on the line against the man whom he beat for it in October 2010, Zack Sabre jr. Walter just recently completed a very successful tour in Japan for Big Japan Wrestling where he won his second Unified World Wrestling Championship against Daisuke Sekimoto. Zack Sabre jr caused quite some furor lately and winning wXw's top title again certainly won't hurt his reputation.

Catch Wrestling Association's true legend Klaus Kauroff, one of the most famous villains in the history of European wrestling, has announced that he will make a special appearance at the event. He'll be acting as Karsten Beck’s manager in his bout with UK's Marty Scurll.

Absolute Andy, former wXw World Heavyweight Champion, will face "Tremendous" Emil Sitoci from the Netherlands. They have met before and Sitoci came very close to beating the then reigning champion for the title. While Andy will celebrate his first appearance for wXw since December, the Dutch finally wants to gain a clean victory against the German.

Austrian veteran Michael Kovac will square off with "The Bad Boy of British Wrestling" Jon Ryan. Kovac has had a great 2011 until now becoming a household name at the Japanese promotion SMASH. Ryan on the other hand certainly wants to improve his match record against the former Finnish Heavyweight Champion.

On May 21st Sean South became the first ever UEWA Cruiserweight Champion in Oslo, Norway when he defeated Kid Fite in the finals of a one night tournament. He has wrestled for wXw twice before but couldn't score a victory. Therefore a win in one of Europe's leading wrestling organisations could enhance his current momentum. His opponent will be the returning Anthony Zeus from the Netherlands. The Dutch couldn't wrestle for three months due to an injury and is surely eager to come back with a win on June 4th.

The new UEWA European Heavyweight Champion "Bad Bones" John Kay, Jay Skillett and 2-Face will step in the ring against Tommy End, Aaron Insane and Chris Rush in a Westside Dojo Different Routes Tag Team Match while "The Star Attraction" Mark Haskins will face Freddy Stahl in Stahl's first match of his Five Match Trial Series.

The two-time NWA UK Junior Heavyweight Champion Kurupt from the UK will debut for wXw against the up and coming Jason Hendrix. Not only does Kurupt have the edge in experience, he has been wrestling since 2000, but also outweighs the rookie. Hendrix has proven to be a brave and spectacular athlete but it remains to be seen if those attributes can even up the obvious disadvantages against the man from the UK.

Also announced: Adam Polak
